Topic - How to Effectively Apply Discounts Based on Customer Budget in Salesforce CPQ.
So Let's begin,
___________________________________________________________
Scenario :
Sometimes, a customer's quotation for billing exceeds their actual budget. However, Its not that much big difference & you're keen on retaining this customer and wish to offer a discount. Rather than applying discounts to individual products, you aim to provide an overall discount on selected items, while also ensuring that certain products remain exempt from any discounting.
Let's see how we can achieve this using Salesforce CPQ.
Step 01:
Open Setup >> Select & Open "Object Manager" >> Search & click on "Quote" object >> Go to the Field Sets section & open "Line Editor" >> Search for "Target Customer Amount" & drag-drop to available field set section >> Save.
I have two Product:
1. Fiber Connection Type =Discountable Price = 200 INR
2. Sound Box (Non Disc) Type = Non - Discountable Price = 100 INR
3. Charger Type = Discountable Price = 50 INR
Step 02:
Now, When I open Quote an "Target Customer Amount" field will be displayed in Quote Line Editor.
Add those above two product to the Quote.
You can see for 01 year quotation price will be 350 INR but lets say customer budget is 320 INR.
You intend to offer a discount, ensuring it's not applied to individual products. Specifically, the 'Sound Box (Non Disc)' product should remain exempt from any discount [As its Non-Discountable in Product Configuration].
Just add customer budget value in Target Customer Amount" field which is displayed in Quote Line Editor as 320 INR & Click on 'Calculate'.
Booom !! The discount is automatically calculated for those two products (i.e Fiber Connection & Charger) while discounting is prevented for the 'Sound Box (Non Disc)' product as per its configuration.
